Getting Started

Start planning your dream kitchen today. Kitchen Craftsmen Step-by-Step guide to planning and measuring your new kitchen.

In order to get you on the right track with your kitchen renovation we offer a free design and quotation service. Our designers will create a stylish new layout designed to maximize the storage and ease of use of your kitchen while ensuring that the designs conform to the required HIA/KBDA standards. Once you are happy with the design, we will then provide a quotation based on your choice of colours, profiles, materials etc.

All we need to get the ball rolling is an initial set of measurements for us to work from (don’t worry about them being millimeter exact).

Before we manufacture and install your kitchen a representative will perform an onsite ‘check measure’ and redraw the design based on more accurate measurements. Once you have approved this final plan, the kitchen can be delivered within as little as three 3 weeks.

Follow the instructions below and bring the resulting plan to your nearest showroom.

Using a tape measure, pencil and paper complete the following steps.

1) Draw the outline shape of your kitchen.
2) Measure the total width of each wall.

For each window
3) Measure the distance from the left edge of the window frame to the left corner of the wall. Repeat for the right side of the window.
Measure the width of the window, including the frame.

For each door
4) Measure the distance from the left edge off the door frame to the left corner of the wall. Repeat for the right side of the door frame.

Almost done...
Mark the sink waste position and any gas outlets that are present and show us any limits on where you want the cupboards to start and end.
Tell us if your existing benchtop fits INTO the window or whether the windows are above the benchtop.
Tell us the size of your appliances (particularly the fridge if it is in the kitchen).

And that's all!

Kitchen Floorplan Design Guide
