Benchtops - Engineered Stone
At the Kitchen Craftsmen we custom manufacture all of our stone benchtops in-house at purpose-built factory facilities in Joondalup.
We use an advanced computer-based digital measuring system to create a virtual benchtop template, and then superimpose this data back over control images taken onsite, ensuring millimeter level accuracy.
The resulting electronic template is then fed into our computer controlled cutting and polishing machines which then carve the benchtop from solid slabs of engineered quartz. We can template, manufacture and install a stone bench top in as little as 2 weeks*
The Kitchen Craftsmen do not supply natural stone but use engineered stone from a variety of manufacturers. Engineered stone is usually comprised of approximately 95% natural crushed quartz with the remaining 5% consisting of a resin binder and pigments. This compound is crushed and compressed under intense heat and pressure using the Breton manufacturing method and has several advantages over natural stones such as Marble and Granite, such as increased flexural strength, impact resistance and stain resistance.
